Do you have remodel day dreams?
You know, you have sketches of the new wall, the addition to the master, the $40,000 kitchen redo?
And maybe your pocket book doesn’t support such dreams, right now?????
Maybe you live in a place that you can’t remodel (apartment or rental).
Whatever the case may be, we have some smaller solutions that can make a big change to you space.
NOTE- These aren’t $2 changes, but they are cheaper than a remodel.
Now we all know, paint is a big space changer, but here are some additional options:
1) Light Switch/Outlet Covers
These are pretty inexpensive in comparison to a remodel, but they do make a nice change to a home.
**We have used some Amazon affiliate links to better assist you in your search.
2) Paint Trim
Okay, so you may not be able to do this on a rental (although some landlords are open to work on their property) but if you are in a dated home, painting trim can really brighten things up.
3) Wall Decals
These are super simple to apply and remove if you want to change or move.
Over on Amazon these range from $4 on up and really make a quick update.
4) Light Fixtures
Thrift stores, goodwill, craigslist, and Habitat for Humanity ReStore are good places to check for a “new” light fixture. (You can see our full dining room makeover HERE.)
Let’s face it, window treatments can be expensive but there are some lower budget alternatives like drop cloths. (We just did a curtain from a drop cloth that will be posted soon. To see more of our projects, follow us on our social media’s and sign up for our newsletter.)
Changing out door handles or knobs can help modernize your space. We also took twine and wrapped it around an old handle to update the look. You can see it HERE.
This is probably more for a home owner, but a big change to a space!!! Adding wainscoting can completely change the look of a room.
