Preheat over to 350 degrees. Line a 9 X 13 sheet pan, with rim, using parchment paper or a silpat (see above for links). You can try using a very well greased pan as it may just release without any lining. (We used a silpat.)
In a mixer, cream together the softened butter and sugars.
After butter and sugar mixture is creamed, add in the egg and then the vanilla,
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, salt, and baking soda.
Gradually, add dry ingredients to the butter/sugar mixture.
Spay or grease pan, and sides, to ensure nothing sticks.
With a spatula, scrap up all the dough and place it in the sheet pan. Taking the butter wrapper from the stick of butter used earlier, gently press the dough down. It should fill the pan (or pretty close to it), but if it doesn’t don’t worry. You just want it to be even.
Bake for approximately 18 minutes or until evenly golden brown.
Remove from the over and let it sit for a minute. Now invert the pan unto a cutting board OR pull up lining and transfer to a cutting board.
With a pizza cutter, cut down the middle horizontally. Next cut strips vertically.
In a double boiler, or in the microwave, melt chocolate.
*If you are unsure how to do this there is a link below.
You can drizzle the chocolate or spread it all over or just the top part. The choice is up to you.
Take chip crumbs,, in a shall dish, and break into smaller crumbs if necessary. Dip chocolate covered sticks into crumbs or whatever you like.
