“We have to remember what’s important in life: friends, waffles, and work. Or waffles, friends, work. But work has to come third.”

ON THE GO BREAKFAST WAFFLE SANDWICH
Back when our oldest was in fifth grade, the school had a breakfast recipe contest. I decided, on a whim, to enter with this breakfast waffle sandwich. Low and behold, I won. I ended up wining an IPOD shuffle, yeah back in the day, and now you can be privy to this Award Wining Recipe!!!
|HERE IS ANOTHER ON THE GO BREAKFAST RECIPE THAT IS SUPER HEARTY|
This recipe is great for kids or adults. BONUS, it’s very flexible. Use whatever “butter” you like, waffles, and even fruit. Make an Elvis….bananas would work well here!
In the end, you will end up with a tasty breakfast sandwich that will help you salvage time while on the way to school or work.
NOTE- We normally LOVE, and make homemade waffles, but for this recipe, the Nutrigrain waffles work best for us.
On The Go Breakfast Waffle Sandwich
Quick, on the go, breakfast waffle sandwich.
Ingredients
- 4 Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles
- 1 Large Apple
- Peanut Butter
- Honey
Instructions
- Toast waffles so they are firm. Waffles that are too soft will make the sandwich hard to handle.
- While waffles are in oven, cut very thin slices of apple.
- Remove waffles from toaster and spread peanut butter on each side.
- Add apple slices to the top of one waffle.
- Drizzle with honey, if desired.
Notes
If your apple is sweet, you may not want to add honey; up to you.
Also, you can use any kind of butters you like, i.e. almond.
