Awhile back, on our Facebook page, we featured a how-to create a no-sew sock gnome by Cheri Spaulding. It’s been so popular we thought we would include it in a blog post so no one would have to stop and start it to get all the info. We will also include the video so you can watch it step by step as well.
Just hanging with my gnomies.

on your nome. I was wondering if you used the leftover parts of the socks. If you don’t here are my thoughts. For the body turn wrong side out, close it with with ponytail elastic. Turn right side out and fill with rice. Add nose as in original directions. Now for hat. Turn sock wrong sideout to secure with hair elastic. Then at the bottom opening, run thin line of hot glue for hem. When dry continue with regular directions for securing hat and beard. I hope I haven’t been pretentious. You may have all ready been doing this or using your scraps for something else. Anyway loved the tutorial. Thank you, Raye
Great ideas.
I loved making this video! Creativity is great for the soul. Cheri
IT is such an awesome DIY!!!
Just an FYI ! Try cutting the faux fur on the back using an X-acto or box cutter very gently. Saves time and fur. Love your gnome!
Great tip. Thank you
Just happened across this craft idea and love it. I immediately saved it for next years holiday money gift holders for the nieces and nephews. I will create a small bag (from sock scraps and yarn) with their initials and year stitched on so they have a keepsake. I always look for a fun way to give them cash at the holidays and this cute idea makes me excited to get started on them. Thanks so much for sharing.
That’s a great idea!!!!
