When we started on this DIY Pantry here is what we were working with:.
The Before

See the back wall with the electrical outlet on it? That is our new pantry and fridge wall.
This is the other side of that same wall and where our pantry cabinet was.
It was something!
AFTER
Hang on to your pantyhose………
First we decided to add the refrigerator to the inside of the pantry to get it out of the middle of the kitchen. This would allow us more space in the kitchen, although a little less in the pantry (but it all worked out).
The laundry room is inside the pantry.
If you want to see the $4 DIY change to the laundry room, here it is.
Much more space now.
And the top of the fridge inside the pantry is used as a bookshelf (which was also on Instagram).
Now here is the kitchen wall after……..
BTW- Do you just love the sign? I can’t even express how much I not only love it, but how amazing Elizabeth from ZincFineArt is. This happened to get shipped to my old address and she worked miracles getting it to me!
Now before we open the door (that does still need to be painted). First we have to show you this:
If you follow us on Instagram, you may remember this picture….
Well what does this have to do with our pantry?????
The wind might have huffed and puffed and blew our fence down but………..
we saw FREE shelves!
Come on, we are Salvage Sister and Mister!
And now real life has filled it.
Aren’t we blessed to have food to fill it?
Thank you for coming along on this journey.
We hope to inspire you to make the most with what you have. It might not always be perfect, but perfect is highly overrated anyways.
Next DIY project?? We will be showing the changes to our kitchen.
And check out this $100(ish) bathroom makeover:
Love the changes! And the sign is fabulous.

Fabulous job! I love that you reused the wood from your fence.
Pat, We were having a terrible time trying to find shelves in our budget so God blew them down for us 🙂

Awww, Thanks Wendy! It is such a blessing. My first room!
Oh my goodness! You guys are something else. Using your old fencing to make pantry shelves = genius. I love the little stained glass window in there too! I really like the blue color you used in the kitchen and I can’t wait to see the “after” of that whole room. As for the sign, I’m lusting after it and have opened the link to ZincFineArt in a new tab that I am going over to right now!
Thanks so much Jen. It’s been a great project…although maybe next time not so close to the holidays. The sign was a great find. And just love it there.
That is awesome!!
