A budget-friendly farmhouse style shed makeover.
Welcome #ssmfeatureme readers. We know you love seeing all the great salvage projects people are doing all around the land. We do too!
Today’s feature is from Cole @Coleworlld on Instagram. They purchased a house in foreclosure almost 3 years ago and you have to see all the updates they have done!!!!!!!! It’s gorgeous.
Today Cole is sharing their shed makeover…
“When we bought this house, there was a giant shed in the back yard. The house was literally falling apart & the shed in the backyard was no different. It was a big ol’ eyesore that was cemented into the ground. Anyway, we had a lot of work to do inside the house & didn’t have a lot of money to spend out here. So we made the best of it!”
That they did!!

- They started by clearing out all the overgrown brush & trees around the shed. It was obvious no attention had been paid to the back yard in years. After clearing it out, they were pleased to discover they gained an entire useable acre.
- Next, pressure washing was on the list. They were able to remove years of build up mud & dirt. (They didn’t paint the shed- instead, a little water & elbow grease cleaned it right up).
- Last but not least, they used some scrap wood from previous projects to outline the sides of the shed. (Since the shed is really thick metal, they used long screws and drilled them in.)

This fun little project took our entire family’s help & an entire weekend. The only money they actually spent was on a pint of blue paint for the door & a new light fixture above the sliding door.
This project is proof that you don’t have to spend a lot of money to make something pretty. In fact, a lot of times just cleaning (which is FREE) really can overhaul a space that’s been neglected. It’s a DIY’ers best friend.
We think it looks fabulous, don’t you?
A BIG thanks to Cole for sharing this makeover. Again, if you are impressed with this, you will definitely want to check out her Instagram feed for more amazing projects.
