How to display your collections and a view of one person’s antique displays.
I am a collector at heart. I mean, why have one of something special, when you can have ten? hahaha
Cabbage Patch Dolls, stuffed bears, Noah’s Ark, roosters are just a few of the collections I have had in my lifetime.
Nowadays, I don’t collect as much as I use to, but I believe one of the biggest hurdles with collections is how to display them.
So you have 20 vintage glass knobs, now what?
Well, for this week’s Salvage Sister & Mister Feature Me, Betty Gallimore is not only sharing her FAB collections but tips on displaying them. You are in for quite a treat…

SS&M – Thanks for being a feature here today Betty. Let’s start with what inspires you to collect?
BETTY – I love to collect to preserve history before it’s gone. Things were made more beautiful and have such lovely graphics than they do today. I think these things deserve to be displayed. I grew up in the 50s so basically this is my past.
SS&M – It looks like you have multiple collections.
BETTY – I do collect a lot of different things. I have so many collections that my husband and I built a general store behind our house. It’s just to look at; we don’t sell anything. I’ve collected junk my entire life. I have a love for anything old.
SS&M – WOW! A general store? There is nothing more vintage than a general store. I see so many wonderful things.
Betty – There are old tins (coffee, powder, shaving, coffee, spice, and more).
Betty – Old cameras, typewriters, old leather change purses, and pocketbooks.

Betty – I also collect old whisk brooms, horsehair brushes, shaving brushes, and old dresser sets in shadow boxes or display boxes.
SS&M – Yes, I love those shadow boxes. Can you tell us about how you display your items?
Betty – I usually display items under glass, in shadow boxes, or in a store display….. it makes the items stand out.

Lots of video pop ups, this post was hard to enjoy because of the annoying ads.
So sorry Jeri. As a blogger this is partly how I earn an income from ads, etc. It’s easier to read on a desktop, but there are “close” options on the pop ups. Sorry for the inconvenience.
I love your ideas, thinking out of the box. I have a few of the things you collect and you have given me added ammo. I am totally going to enjoy today going thru all my stuff and reorganizing. Thank-you P.
Yay. Glad you were inspired
I have a collection of butter pats. How would you display them?
Oh, how fun…you could find a small curio shelf that hangs on the wall…that would be pretty,
