Do you ever find yourself looking around your home thinking about all you have to do?
From projects to laundry, there is always something!
When we were first married, we use to go over to the Mister’s grandparents house just to get away from it. When you are at someone else’s home you don’t see all their hairballs, junk mail, and dirty windows. And even if you do, it’s not yours!!! Who cares!
Of course, chores need to get done, but sometimes it’s just hard to relax with it taunting you…..
“I’m HERE, don’t you see me?”
“We are trying to relax, leave us alone!”
“But if you don’t get this done now, when?”
“LEAVE US ALONE!”
Anyone else have these conversations in their head?
Recently we were feeling this way……..
Projects and painting and chores, oh my!
Remedy:
Give a helping hand!
Nothing improves your mood and gives you an appreciation for what you have than helping someone in need.
Our church was having a community building event.
The first part was to go in the community, houses were previously selected, and clean up and do minor repairs to homes.
The second part included a community festival for the neighborhood.
We decided to work on the homes.
Bright and early at the church at 7:30 am on a Saturday.
Normally it seems like you want to just hang out on a Saturday morning, but this felt good to get out and ready to go.
The air was crisp as we gathered together, descending on neighborhoods like locusts.
RED SHIRTS WERE EVERYWHERE
And you know what?
Many hands make light work. -John Heywood Two people are better than one because together they have a good reward for their hard work. Ecclesiastes 4:9_____
The next time you feel your stuff taunting you, try giving a helping hand.
