Guy’s college checklist, are you ready?
Well, our oldest decided, very recently, that he will be transferring from the local Community College to a 4-year school.
Cue Mom crying her head off.
It’s a mad scramble to get everything ready for him to go.
Now, when I decided to go away to college it may have looked like the car above.
Our son’s version’s version…
We don’t want to start a battle of the sexes, as we know there are many light lady packers and heavy men packers. HOWEVER, there are a few ladies, you know who you are, that may have to weigh their luggage every time they fly.
If your college-bound son is “all packed’, you may want to check and make sure they really have all the essentials they need, although a toothbrush and toothpaste is a great placee to start!
GUY’S COLLEGE CHECKLIST
Now he is all set,
……….at least a mom can hope, right?
If you will excuse me, it’s time to start packing. Buckle up everyone, it’s gonna be a bumpy road! For me, not him!

Here are a few more posts we think you will enjoy:
I feel your pain, Deborah! This time last year, I was helping my one and only child prepare for the big move to The University of AZ. It was the hardest goodbye, but we BOTH grew so much from the experience, so it was a VALUABLE one! You will do great! (P.S. We definitely fell in the heavy packers category… a mom and her daughter… Need I say more?)
Cindy, We moved from AZ to OR just a few years ago. Known many a kid who went to UofA. I know deep down I will survive but it will be a rough ride.
I know what you’re going through. My son went off to college a few years ago. I remember driving away after getting him settled. It was like that first day of preschool again. Such an incredible learning year for him and for us. The irony is he ended up moving back home to go to another school and it was hard adjusting to having him back. Hah! You will do fine and learn to embrace this new chapter.

Thanks Carolyn,
I bet that would be an adjustment. I told my son to get ready for me to turn his room into a craft room but he knows I am just joking….for now 🙂
Praying for all of you! My oldest stayed local so no packing and moving, but she’s got #SRFEVER – so ready to be done! The other still has a year to go but thinking about everything coming up and is potentially feeling #Freshawol=ready to run before she even goes! lol. One of the colleges she would possibly look at if she decided to play soccer is an hour away so she would potentially move to attend that college and a list certainly would be needed!
