WHAT….. A…….. YEAR!
2016 carried a BIG change around here. Because of some family issues, Salvagesista left her cooking position/job. That meant more time for blogging and family, but less income.
Blogging is a job for us. The hope was to put more energy into making more income at it. So far so good. We are gaining some ground.

Now onward and upward to 2017 blogging goals (imagine charge music playing).
If you aren’t a blogger, here’s why you should read this:
- You can be “nosy” and see what we are up to.
- A chance at some potential humor here and there.
- You will be so motivated to hit your own goals!!!!!!!!!
We are still crunching the numbers, but we did make more money this year than last, at blogging. That allowed a purchase of THIS CAMERA!!!! If you have been around here for awhile, you know this has been a serious goal. WOOT, WOOT!!
Now, this year will be the year of a new computer…will the current computer revolt since typing this? We hope not. Blogging takes a lot of computer juice so we would love to upgrade our 5 year old basic laptop.
All our social media goals were made last year…some by the hair on our chinny, chin, chin but made none the less.
Our 2017 Blogging Goals:
Truth be told, there is a little (aka a lot) of fear typing some of these out. Here goes nothing:
- Page Views 100k (currently around 20-30k depending on the month)
- Facebook 10k (currently 3.7k)
- Instagram 20k (currently 15.2k)
- Twitter 10k (currently 2.3k)
- Pinterest 15k (currently 6,8k)
- Add videos
- Expand Oregon Bloggers (website)
- Email Subscribers 2500 (currently 850)
**The reason numbers goals are so important in blogging is because the amount of traffic you get is directly related to the amount of income you can earn.
Why make these goals anyways?
You can’t hit a target if you aren’t aiming for it right?
We would rather fail at these goals, then try for nothing. It also provides us an opportunity to constantly access how our business is doing. Could you imagine a large company, or even small business, not having any goals?
Remember we promised you humor….here it is:
Maybe your goal feels a little like this:
Planning to accomplish in 2017 the goals of 2016 …….which your were trying to accomplish in 2015……. because you promised yourself in 2014……. and planned for in 2013.
If this is you, just remember what Dory taught us, Just Keep Swimming.
These are the goals for our blog. We haven’t even discussed personal goals, but those are equally important…… but probably for another time.
What’s your top goal for 2017?
