When the box is just as good as the gift. A DIY Tutorial to make a Holiday Cricut Treat Box.
It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving. – Mother Theresa
I have such fond memories of the homemade cards, treats, and I have been given over the years as well as the ones I have given. There is a special place in the heart for handmade.
But it doesn’t really matter if you bake or not, anyone will love getting this ENJOY Cricut treat box. the box is dressed to impress! Pack up some goodies (store bought or your own) for the neighbors, friends, or your office mates. Plus, you/they can reuse them to keep the holiday spirit going.
SALVAGE TIP – Even though we have shown this box in a Christmas setting, it could easily be used for other occasions (just change out the color/ribbon to match the event).

INSTRUCTIONS
SVG FILE:
- Turn your Cricut Maker machine on and insert the 02 Double Scoring Wheel.
- Open Cricut Design Space and click on “New Project”. Select the “Upload” button from the left hand panel. Then, click on the “Upload Image” button. Press the “Browse” button and navigate to the svg file for this project. Add tags for your project, and hit “Save” at the bottom right corner.
- On the next screen, select the image you just uploaded, and then press the “insert images” button in the lower right hand corner.
- Before doing anything else, make sure your size is set to the correct measurements: (W 14.965, H 10.442). Also set the position of your project to X 0, Y 0.
- Ungroup the entire project. Select the first, third, and fifth “Cut” layers in the layers panel, then change the linetype (at the top of your window) from “cut” to “score”. Your lines should then change to perforated lines, as shown.
- Select the first two layers, and then press the attach button. Then select the third and fourth layers, and press the attach button. Then select the last two layers and press the attach button.
You are now ready to make your project…
- Select the green “Make it” button on the upper right hand side of your screen. You will have 3 mats. The first mat should
have your festive colored cardstock. The second and third mats should have your white Bristol paper or thick white cardstock. Press Continue. (Please Note: Your Cricut machine will score your paper first, then cut on each mat before proceeding to the next mat, so have your fine point blade ready to switch out when the Design Space software prompts you. Also, you can cut two projects at a time by selecting the number of copies on the “Prepare” page in Design Space) - Once all of your cuts and scores have been made, remove from the mat with your Cricut tools. Fold on all of the score lines.
- Starting with the inside portion of the box, add double stick tape and fold to complete.
- For the outside portion of the box, turn your festive paper over. Spray adhesive on the wrong side and press onto the white cardstock that is the same size. Trim off any excess white paper carefully, using your straight edge ruler and exact knife. When dry, fold the flap over and adhere with double-sided tape.
- Using crafting tweezers, apply adhesive to the back of the inside letters of the “e” and “o” in the word “enjoy” and attach to the box. Slide the inside of your box into the outer shell and your box is complete. Tie a ribbon around the box to the left of
the word “enjoy” for added detail.

MORE HOLIDAY INSPIRATION
If you are new to these “Salvage” parts, we are happy to have you! Our desire is to make the most with whatever we got. There are lots of upcycle/repurpose/reuse crafts, budget-friendly decor, and recipes that save time/waste less/old-fashioned and sometimes salvaging life moments.
SALVAGE TIP – If you don’t have a Cricut, ask a friend to borrow one or better yet, do the craft together. Back in the day, people use to borrow more things and it developed friendships. Don’t feel like you always need to buy something first. this allows you the opportunity to see if you even want it for the long haul. Want one for your very own? People often upgrade so you can always check for a used one (but you may want to buy from someone you know).
Here are a few more holiday posts to inspire you to create no matter what you have.
