Just like each pumpkin is beautiful and unique, so are we….lessons from the pumpkin patch – celebrating uniqueness.
What is the price of two sparrows-one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows. Matthew 10:29-31
Is there anything more quintessential than going to a pumpkin patch during fall?
A tractor hayride out to the field.
The cool brisk air.
BOOTS!
A hot drink in your hand.
Sweaters and scarves!
You pull a wagon to find the “perfect” pumpkin!

But what is the “perfect” pumpkin?
A tall orange one?
A mini one?
What about one with “warts” (a personal favorite)?
Green stripes?

And that’s not even covering the beautiful squashes, and mini’s, and more!!!!!

Isn’t it funny? If you ask each person what they are looking for you, you are bound to come up with as many answers as there are people.
Isn’t the variety part of the beauty?
Why then do we try to fit people to a one size fits all?
Don’t we need all the colors, sizes, and shapes to make for a beautiful patch…….world?
All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it. 1 Corinthians 12:27
The next time we want someone to think like us, be like us, look like us, or when we try to be like everyone else maybe we need to remember the beauty of the pumpkin patch:
“Being different simply means you have something different to offer the world.”
CELEBRATE UNIQUENESS – YOURS, AND OTHERS
- Don’t try to be like everyone else.
- Don’t let others tell you to be like everyone else.
- Remember we all come in different shapes and sizes and that’s okay.
- All the different colors, from hair to skin, makes it more FUN!
- Don’t wish to be a different pumpkin.
- Don’t try and change someone else.
- And love those warts, it adds texture to life.

For we are God’s Handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
