“Life has taught us that love does not consist of gazing at each other, but looking outward in the same direction.”
– Antoine de Saint Exupery
One of the great blessings we have, with this site, is the opportunity to share other individuals and their salvage ideas, recipes, projects, and moments. We strongly believe, that we are better together. There is no way we are going to have all the salvage info, so let’s learn form one another, right?
Today, we are sharing this Backyard Barn Wedding from Regina Derek-Stracener for her son and new daughter-in-law. Not only will you be inspired by this budget friendly wedding, but you will get some tips along the way.
BACKYARD BARN WEDDING
One of the wonderful things about this barn wedding was the fact that it was done on a budget and with the help of the community, friends, and family.
TIP– Do you have a friend who is good at event planning? See if they want to help you get organized. Often times our friends secret super powers need to have an outlet every now and again.
They bought their property about three years ago and decided it would make a wonderful place to host the wedding.
In addition to their own resources, the help of others really made the wedding come together. For example,
-The bales of hay where from the local feed shop.
-Most of the quilts that were used were from the families on both sides.
-The chairs were borrowed from a local church.

TIP– When doing a budget minded wedding, don’t just let the bride have something borrowed.
They used cuts off their grapevine on the property to make the chandelier and added lights.
What a great community/family effort to make this a special day that didn’t break the bank.
A big thank you to Regina, and family, for her kindness in sharing this amazing backyard barn wedding.

What a gorgeous wedding. I believe that weddings are a celebration and a way for the community to help start a new couple on their way with friendship and gifts. It makes me sad to see new couples going to in debt for the princess for a day style weddings. This wedding says so much more. I love love love it. Congratulations to them on there wedding.

I know. They did such an awesome job. I totally agree with you. I think that’s what makes them more special.
Great location and decor!!! The groom’s and other mens faded jeans though, just not up to the event. The bride looks great though!
