Making a standard bookcase into a garage shelf.
If you frequent yard sales, thrift stores, or search Cragislist you will probably find particle bookcases that people no longer want. Oftentimes they are free on the side of the road!!!!
Isn’t that the best price…..FREE?
There are great ideas to repaint and remake these cabinets all over the internet.
Today, we wanted to give you a simple version of a way to use this shelf in another way in your home, or in this case garage.
We are staying at The Mister’s mom and hubby’s house. They are working on projects around the house, one of which is the garage.
Organization is on the “To Do List” so here is what The Mister came up with-
The Mister hung it on the garage wall.
Here are the steps if you would like to do this in your garage:
- Remove kick plate from the front bottom.
- Fasten removed piece inside top back. Using two screws on each end and one on the top. This is now your anchor to screw to the wall.
- Locate studs in wall
- Screw through former kick plate into the stud. The Mister used 4.
What do you think?
It works great, huh?
Please let The Mister know your thoughts.
